First, our van went viral (click here if you haven't heard of it). Then, I wrote a book. Now, our family is driving across the country giving away free copies of said book and blogging about the adventure. Join the adventure by subscribing above.
See our van out and around? Ask us for a free copy of the book, Struggle Bus: The Van. The Myth. The Legend.
The plan was simple. Drive across the country in our van. Randomly hand out copies of my book. Meet some interesting people. See some interesting places. Blog about the adventure. This "Struggle Bus Tour" was a fun idea my wife had when my book launched...back in February. You remember the first of February 2020, don't you? Times were simpler then. We're all 20 years older and angrier now. Anyhow, we postponed our Struggle Bus adventure for obvious reasons.
At long last, virus numbers were trending down, and the country was opening back up. It was the end of May/first of June, and things were looking up for the year 2020. So, the Wood family made a decision: if virus numbers continued to trend down for another week or so, and if states continued to advance through their reopening phases, we would emerge from the great quarantine and take a more cautious version of our Struggle Bus Tour--a masked-up, hand gel-ed, significantly less people-y road trip to see some sights, hand out some books, and generally not be in our house. I figured I'd blog about the journey after we returned. Well, all that happened, and off we went. It is now July 2. We're currently more than halfway through our weeks-long adventure. Unfortunately, the COVID tide turned just a few days into our journey. Ugh.
